IDFC Bank Visa Signature Debit Card Review

I was recently hunting VISA signature debit cards for my friends who would be traveling with me for a trip. So, they can have access to airport lounge along with me.

India is going through the digital upgrade and there are many new age banks coming up with saving accounts to meet the needs of new age citizens.

The welcome pack was looking good and the card is stunning black. I was impressed with the delivery speed and the package.

What is missing?

  • Only VISA card is being given by IDFC, we do not have other options like MasterCard, RuPay which makes it a limited choice.
  • The interest rate is just 4% were in the other new players in the market are offering 6 – 7% interest. Some of the banks who offer high-interest-rate in India are DigiBank by DBS, 811 by Kotak & Equitas Small finance Bank.
  • One of the main reason to stay attached to a debit card is the loyalty reward points, but IDFC as of now does not have any loyalty reward points.
  • In the modern usage, Contactless payment is what is looked forward – PayWave by VISA is missing in the Signature debit card.

The catch

  • You need to deposit 25,000 INR as initial funding and can withdraw it as soon as you get your account activated.

Overall card rating: 3.5/5

HDFC Bank Diners Club Black Credit Card Review

HDFC Diners Club Black is one of the best super premium international credit cards in India. I have huge respect for their strategy and reward points. The team who manages and promotes the card really understands what the customer needs and introduced the 10x partners on travel, food and shopping category. I think I’m personally very loyal to this credit card and proud to make use of it too. VISA and MasterCard may be the top market share holders for credit cards, but there are other players such as Diners Club International (DCI) and RuPay. Diners Club has an exclusive tie-up with HDFC Bank as issuer in India. DCI has a history from 1950 and was the first charge card. They were acquired by CitiBank in 1981 and later by Discover Financial Services in April 2008. Look & Feel The card looks elegant black and has a world map in the background The card comes with EMV chip but does not have NFC enabled the contactless option Reward rate The card comes with one of the best in class rewar

TimesPrime Membership Program Review

Loyalty membership programs are becoming more popular in India. I believe this is because Indians are comfortable with a debit card than the credit cards. Usually, credit cards have loyalty programs well established when the volume is high. India had 36.2M credit cards, 846.7M debit cards in January 2018. This clearly shows that Indians love debit cards over credit cards. About TimesPrime TimePrime is a comprehensive membership program from Times Internet Limited (TIL). Times Internet is also India’s largest digital products company. How I Manage Multiple Credit Cards?

Getting my first credit card When I first applied for Credit Card in 2013, it was rejected saying I’m not over 23 to apply. Credit Card Application Rejection Due To Age As soon as I turned 23, on the same day I applied for my first credit from HDFC. It was an HDFC MoneyBack Credit Card, I had no clue on reward points, lounge access or Insurance. I just had it for the feeling of holding one.
